Developing volleyball in your school
The Suffolk Volleyball Association has worked with numerous schools throughout the county to help them enhance their volleyball offering. If you would like such assistance, please contact our Chairman.

School Games
The Suffolk Volleyball Association works with the Suffolk PE & Sport Network to help schoools organise School Games competitions.
Teachers wanting to prepare teams for these and run Level 1 competitions in their schools can find information on the recommended formats including team sizes, net heights, court sizes and adapted training games for each age-group via the Your School Games website. Additional information, specific to Suffolk and also a link to the refereeing signals can be found here.
The roll-of-honour from previous years can be found here.
Regional development camps & inter-regional competitions
Eastern Region Volleyball Development Camps are held at The University of Essex on the edge of Colchester and are suitable for Year 8 - Year 12. In 2024-25 the first was mid-December. Four followed in early 2025. Selection for Inter-Regional Squads happened at the end of March. These were followed by five more weekends of training before the inter-regional championships which are usually over the late-May bank holiday. Find them on social media to learn about next seasons dates.
The team at Essex Rebels are heavily involved in thse camps. Ahead of some of their Super-League matches they also have coaching clinics. These are suitable for Year 8s and under with older students welcome too but a less intense environment than the camps. These are low-cost. To find out when these are players / parents can subscribe to their mailing list using form at bottom of their fixtures page or follow their social media.
Financial support
The SVA can contribute towards travel costs incurred by members of Suffolk clubs travelling to regional camps either via reimbursement of public transport costs, or petrol money at the current Volleyball England rate (2015: 25p per mile) - contact our treasurer. Additional support may be available locally (e.g. Ron Ames Memorial Sports Fund for those around Stowmarket - ask your school for details).
